The product arrived well-packaged, and to my surprise, they included an extra set of M8 lug/spring washer/washer assemblies. It demonstrated a solid 104.6% of the specified capacity. However, my main concern is that the plastic case and handles feel somewhat delicate, not exactly built for rough handling – but that's not a big issue for me since I'm installing it in a fixed location.
I charged it initially with a standard FLA charger, then followed up with a bench power supply set to 14.6V, as per the spec sheet. After a few minutes, the power supply showed 0.00mA current, indicating the BMS's successful prevention of overcharge. During the capacity test using a shunt, I found that the battery, advertised at 1280mAh@20A discharge rate, measured 1340mAh at a little over 21A!
I can't speak to its long-term durability yet, but LFP chemistry cells are typically very robust – as long as the BMS keeps doing its job! I skipped testing the over-discharge protection, concluding the capacity test when my inverter cut off due to low voltage at 11.7V. I also didn't test over-temperature protection, but for my purposes, BMS-managed temperature and over-discharge protection aren't deal-breakers. I admit I was too hesitant to test the short-circuit protection.
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the packaging, the extra capacity I got, and how it's holding up – especially considering the cost.
I purchased this battery for a few of my expediting cargo vans. They charge off a 20amp dc to dc charger linked up to the alternator. The van's are driving most of the day so it takes about 5 hours for a full charge.
So far this battery has worked great, it's a great value for the price. I highly recommend it.
